Vibration suppression devices

The vibration suppression device is used the sway of a building caused by earthquakes and strong winds. This function is produced by controlling a oscillation body installed on the building roof. This oscillation body is driven by a motor by using a low inertia PM servomotor. When the building
sways, a high-speed response is produced based on the peak torque output of 200%. The motor size adopted corresponds to the rated output of 55kW (Frame 180L). If an induction motor is used to generate the same peak torque output, it is necessary to adopt the frame number 250S. In other words, it is possible to lower the frame number by about 3 frames down if a PM motor is used. Since the installation space on the roof is generally limited, it could produce a smaller footprint.
